Why do I keep having to restart the iOS app to sync items created recently on Mac?
I often find that items created on my Mac do not appear in the iPhone or iPad app until I restart it.
Is there anything I can do to fix this please?

Try turning off autofill and then back on in both devices and if you want just select only the 1Password in the autofill options.
Always leave keychain on (path) - settings, name at top, iCloud, password and keychain.
Let the keychain do whatever it wants, because if something needs to use it in the background that is good.
If that does not work try the below.
Sounds like a sync issue.
I used to have trouble syncing too between my two Apple devices.
The fix was to sign out of iCloud and then sign back in by doing each device slowly at time.
This could help with 1Password you never know until you try it.
(path) - settings, name at top, scroll to bottom and sign out then wait a min until you sign back in.
Not sure on a mac.
After doing this it fixed my sync issue and been good for a year now.
