Why first unlock on Windows always require a password ?

Just minor annoyance as I am using both Mac and Windows.

In Mac, first time unlock after reboot can use whatever unlock method there is (apple watch, touch ID or password).
But in Windows, the first unlock always asks for master password despite Windows OS itself have window Hello unlock.

I'm not sure if there's any security benefit on insisting to use password before allowing subsequent Windows Hello unlocking. It seems unnecessary and inconsistent between platforms.

It's a feature we're very interested in as well, @poomz. Thanks for raising the question here!

    Hi @poomz:

Using Windows Hello after reboot to unlock 1Password, rather than your account password, on TPM 2.0-enabled devices is something we're actively exploring, but don't have any timeframes to share just yet. Keep an eye out on the beta releases to be one of the first to use it when it's ready!
