YouTube login not working with 1Password
Hi,
Using Safari on my Mac (26.1), YouTube told me that I was not signed in. During the sign-in process a window popped up asking if I wanted to use my passkey in the Passwords app. No matter what I tried it would not look at 1Password.
The only way I was successful getting back in was to enable Passwords again. The entry for Google there does have a passcode.
I tried to export that entry but the Passwords export selected item asks me to select the app to receive it but neither 1Password or anything else is listed.
I hope I'm explaining this well enough.
Anyone have a solution to this?
Thanks
Jack

Thanks Dave... your instructions did the trick. Passkeys worry me. I'm retired now but was in IT for my entire working career, the last 20 as the IT manager for a non-profit. If this confuses me, what about people without a tech background.

Hello JackStoller! 👋
Welcome to the community! It sounds like you saved a passkey for your Google account in Apple Passwords instead of 1Password. It's not currently possible to migrate passkeys from Apple Passwords to 1Password, instead you'll need to remove the existing passkey and then save a new passkey in 1Password. Follow these steps:
- Sign into your Google account and remove the existing passkey from the Google account: Remove a passkey that you created
- Remove the passkey from Apple Passwords.
- Turn off the built-in password manager in your browser
- Save a new passkey for the Google account in 1Password: Save and sign in with passkeys in your browser
Let me know if you run into any issues.-Dave
