Fake email from 1Password?
Hi,
Received an email from 1Password today 05 May 25 advising to update my Linux before 16 May 25. Here's the thing. I've used 1Password since version 3, stand-a-lone software. No cloud.
I've NEVER received an email from 1Password. So this is unusual.
No where can I find guidance for a possible phishing email.
So here I am asking for the info to forward this email so I can find out if it is legit.
Why isn't there a confirmed process that if emails are sent, all of your customers know the email is a true email from 1Password?
Please advise where I am to send an email that might be a scam, fake, fraud etc.
Thank you

Furthermore,
I’ve confirmed again, just now, the address for the 1P repository is true and correct.

Hi Quo_Vadis,
That's perfect you're running 8.10.75! That's the latest version, excluding betas, so that would explain why no updates are showing up. You should be all set and don't need to take any action — 8.10.75 has the new Linux public key that the original email referred to.

Hey SimonH.
8.10.75 on LMDE6 - Quo_VadisNew Contributor
Thanks SimonH.
I appreciate the reply. However the email says to update. But 1P Linux won’t update unless there is a legitimate update. There is none currently.
I checked the resource through my package manager and it states I have the latest update. Same on LMDE 6, MX Linux XFCE and KDE flavors.
Having only used Linux for three or so years, the only option I know is to uninstall completely.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.- 1P_SimonH

Quo_Vadis, could you tell me what version of 1Password you're currently using?
