Recover Accounts permission

Recover Accounts is an administrative permission in 1Password. Users who have this permission can recover accounts for other users (see recovery below). By default members of the Owners and Administrator groups in 1Password have the Recover Accounts permission. You can also assign this permission to a custom Group you create in 1Password Business.

Note that the Recover Accounts permission does not allow you to recover your own user account, which is why it’s recommended best practice to have more than one user with this permission in your company's 1Password account.

Think of this Recovery Account permission as giving someone you trust a spare key to your home; hopefully they’ll never need it, but you now have someone you can rely on if you ever get locked out.
