Received the error Internal Server Error Something went wrong Go to community home in response to posting a reply, which appears to have posted successfully. Since this is a 500 error, I won't waste anyone's time with irrelevant client details. Posting this for others to find if they experience the same, not so much to get the server fixed. Please excuse me, as I now need to head out and find a local community home.6Views0likes0CommentsFYI got error messages repeatedly when trying to reset password
I got a second email about joining the new 1Password community, and I heeded it this time, but I was pretty quickly regretting it. First, my old password didn't work. Then, when I tried to reset it, I was getting error messages. I'm only here because the error messages inexplicably stopped. Could your server be overly taxed? (Asking this rhetorically, as I doubt I'll try to login again in a while)4Views0likes1CommentPassword at registration may contain username
When registering for an account here, the restrictions on passwords are 15 to 25 characters No part of the username however pasting nothing but the username, Bob, gets a check ✔️. I suspect that the validation code fails to understand character encoding. It's a tricky subject.21Views1like0CommentsGame Over Scenarios - What To Do in Breach
Hi, Going through some paranoia I’ve been running through some “what if” scenarios about 1Password and figuring out: How stressed I should be in each case What to actually do if it happens Here’s my current thinking — would love feedback: Category 1 – Vault Not Compromised Examples: Someone steals 1Password’s servers but not my Secret Key or master password My phone/laptop is stolen but locked with a strong passcode and biometrics Stress: Low Actions: Unlink stolen devices (only helpful if they are online) Remote wipe if possible No urgent password changes — maybe rotate some over time for peace of mind Category 2 – Vault Potentially Compromised Examples: Malware on my device (could capture my master password next time I unlock vault) Device stolen and unlocked. I thinking something like a phone snatch. Weak device password that could be guessed Stress: Medium–High Actions: Stop using compromised device Change vault master password + Secret Key Immediately change Tier 1 account passwords (email, bank, primary cloud logins) Rotate other accounts over time Category 3 – Vault Definitely Compromised Examples: Attacker knows both master password + Secret Key They have an export or backup of my vault data Stress: High Actions: Immediately change Tier 1 account passwords first Then Tier 2 (social media, messaging, secondary financial) Then the rest Closing thoughts: Avoid malware — it’s one of the few scenarios no password manager can save you from Device theft is more common, but if the vault is locked and your passcode is strong, you’re probably fine. Would you remote wipe straight away or wait to see ifs handed in? The “$5 wrench” attack… well, not much to do there Keep a list of Tier 1 accounts handy for emergencies so you know what to change first Offline-only vault on a USB stick could be more secure, but a lot more inconvenient — I only access password in a secure location. If I'm on the road and no one at home to give me a password, then what. Would appreciate some input to get over the paranoia haha98Views0likes3CommentsMove Report from ⚙️ in corner to under post with 👍 and 🗩
The cog or gear ⚙️ is associated with settings. It makes no sense for it to produce a menu with one item - Report - in the top right of the page, away from the post. The responses to a post such as Like (👍) and Reply (🗩) appear where expected, i.e. under the post. That's where Report (⚠️) should be. Doing the same for replies would remedy a substantial oversight. PS. For our own posts, move Edit (✏️) down there, too.Solved47Views0likes2CommentsImprovements to website matching pattern
I'm trying to find a thread again, that was talking about further options how to improve the matching of websites/the autofill behavior. I remember that I described there, how it would be helpful to have a glob matching or regex pattern matching. Coming back to take a look for the progress, but it seems this thread disappeared. Thanks and cheers, lumarel62Views0likes1CommentImprovements to 1Password Community coming May 22nd
Since re-launching 1Password Community in February, we’ve been taking note of every piece of feedback you’ve all shared so we can continue to make improvements. One trend we’ve seen in the feedback is that we need to make it clearer what posts should go where. The feedback also made it clear that we needed to simplify the navigation so people can get where they want to go quickly and easily. To that end, on Thursday, May 22nd we’ll be re-organizing 1Password Community to make it easier to navigate, find what you’re looking for, and know where to post. We’ll be simplifying the discussion board structure, reducing clutter on the 1Password Community homepage and in the navigation bar at the top of every page. We know lots of folks come here for support, so we’ve also added Get help to the main navigation to help you find existing answers, post a new question in the community, or contact 1Password Support. We hope you’ll find these updates helpful! What’s changing? In the new structure, we’ll have the following discussion boards: Announcements: This is a new discussion board where 1Password staff can share news and updates. 1Password at work: If you’re using 1Password products in your business, this is the best place to get help and share what you’ve learned. 1Password at home: This is the place to get help and talk about all things 1Password for personal cybersecurity and privacy. Developers: Just like before, we’ll continue to have a space for developers to chat with each other and members of the 1Password team. Lounge: Just like before, this space is for off-topic, just-for-fun, and 1Password-adjacent topics. Current discussion boards New discussion boards Lounge Lounge Password Manager 1Password at home Device Trust 1Password at work Passage Developers Developers Developers 1Password Administrators 1Password at work 1Password Developers: SDKs Developers Announcements Do I need to do anything? Nope! Your profile and credentials will stay the same. Will any posts be going away? No, any posts in discussion boards that are being retired will be moved to other discussion boards so that nothing is lost. For any bookmarked discussions that are moved, their old url will redirect you to the new one. When will these changes happen? These changes are scheduled for Thursday, May 22nd. We will share any updates if that changes. Staff will be standing by to help with any questions or concerns. If you have any feedback, please don’t hesitate to reply to this thread. We love to hear from you and will continue to make improvements based on your feedback. Beyond these imminent changes, you can also start new discussion threads in the Lounge and use the tag Community Feedback at any time to share your suggestions!170Views6likes2CommentsDisappearing forum posts?
I spent some time writing some feedback on the forum just now, and the posts showed up fine for a minutes but then seemingly vanished. My profile still shows the total # of posts, but I cannot find the actual posts any longer. What happened? The disappeared posts were about the credit card entry screen: Access Denied | 1Password Community And also about the forum organization, which specifically asked for feedback replies: Improvements to 1Password Community coming May 22nd | 1Password Community You can see that the post used to exist just by hovering over the "Access Denied" link:Solved46Views0likes2Comments
