41 TopicsSupport vs. Community
Many posts here are folks looking for or needing 1Password Support, or following up to an insufficiently prompt email response from Support, where there is little or nothing the Community can do to help or learn. Staff usually quickly respond to get the poster engaged with Support and close the thread to prevent crossing the streams, which is of course the right thing to do... except when the poster describes a problem or behaviour which others might encounter. In this case folks searching for the same or similar experience might find [Commentary of the efficacy of the search function omitted] the post, but no solution or useful commentary. For cases such as these, re-opening the thread and encouraging the poster to follow up with their results after receiving support would share the useful results, save folks from disappointment, providing solutions, and no doubt save 1Password billions in support costs. The timing and co-ordination is left as an exercise for staff.24Views1like1CommentHas testing before release been cut back deliberately?
Three times this year I have been adversely affected by 1P releasing buggy software - in ascending order of annoyance and concern: The first was different sort orders in browsers vs the desktop version (now fixed in the latest version I believe). In fairness, it is possible that this had been there for years without me realising it and (eventually) raising it with support. it didn't affect data so was just an annoyance. The second was the frustration of safari constantly offering to save logins that 1P had just filled - I wasn't the only one affected by this - I am not sure if this one is fixed as I disabled some things as a (support suggested) workaround and haven't re-enabled them again yet. Todays Bug (Notes being truncated ) forced a passcode reset with a bank and cost another half an hour once I found the problem (I thought it was me and a specific note which I re-arranged and re-typed) before I thought to check the community rather than the main support site. The bug is a 'Known Issue' according to the 1P reply posted 25 days ago! The truncated notes bug hid information from me - it bcame visible when I clicked on the edit button (to put the new passcode in) but vanished once again when saved. Why is a bug of this severity (hiding info from customers) still not fixed? Why isn't there an alert? I'm worried. Can 1P still be trusted? Software quality seems to be in decline. Do the new(ish) owners not care about testing prior to release? Are they starving the testing team of resources? Do they not realise that their entire business depends on customers believing that 1P can be trusted with their data - having a bug that hides data from customers, and which isn't mentioned in the main support database when customers look for it does not inspire me with confidence.20Views0likes0CommentsMissing Markdown

In an incognito window, clicking Sign in on the home page opens a Sign In modal. Filling Username and Password then clicking (Sign In) consistently results in the error, ⚠️ Unexpected Error Please try refreshing the page and submitting again. From the Sign In page, the process consistently works normally.188Views0likes11CommentsCommunity password 62 character maximum limit
Seems kinda funny to me that the password manager I use ubiquitously to create 100 character password only allows me to create a 62 character password for the community forum (and doesn't signal that in it's password creation hint popover). Clearly this is an active choice by someone, so I'd be interested in hearing from 1Password themselves why that choice felt like a good idea. I spend a lot of time battling sites that: don't publish their password restrictions at all; allow you to create a password, but the login box then doesn't permit that number of characters; do publish password restrictions, but the restrictions don't match reality only allow super short passwords It would be nice not to add 1Password themselves to that list of 'troublesome' websites :-) On the upside, this WYSIWYG editor is delightful.Solved260Views6likes4CommentsDisappearing forum posts?
I spent some time writing some feedback on the forum just now, and the posts showed up fine for a minutes but then seemingly vanished. My profile still shows the total # of posts, but I cannot find the actual posts any longer. What happened? The disappeared posts were about the credit card entry screen: Access Denied | 1Password Community And also about the forum organization, which specifically asked for feedback replies: Improvements to 1Password Community coming May 22nd | 1Password Community You can see that the post used to exist just by hovering over the "Access Denied" link:Solved50Views0likes2CommentsWhere is 2FA? Where is passkey?
The minimum expectation for account security on any random web forum is a TOTP based second factor, but this is no random web forum. Just about every instance of the popular forum platform Discourse and many others offer modern account security and work well with 1Password. It's no fun having your customers second-guess you choices of technology partners, but while something like the lack of dark mode is an example of a disappointing failure, this is almost unbelievable.Solved310Views9likes3CommentsUsing Claude Desktop Model Context Protocols
