276 TopicsMerging Duplicates
I know that the general response is to manually do this, but doing this with 1000+ objects is impractical to say the least. Some were created because when I migrated to 1Password, some duplicate/corrupt entries already existed in my profiles on Avast, Google, etc, which I did not notice at the time. Unfortunately, some have been created since then by either less tech-savvy family members on their own accounts or how 1Password is asking more often regarding site/app trust & permissions ("Allow fill once") and is thus creating duplicates of its own accord. The fact that merging wasn't already added a while back, considering how many people have asked about it over the years, is interesting to say the least. And yes, I have been attempting to create my own tool for quite some time, but it is difficult to find time to work on it lately, on top of not being successful in general.168Views1like7CommentsiOS apps keep forgetting current collection
I use a single collection 90% of the time and the other 10% of logins etc are stored in 2 other collections for occasional use. I also set a collection for the context that i'm currently in, so use a work collection when at work etc. With this setup I leave the app open to the collection I use most of the time without getting logins popup all the time from other collections that I hardly ever use and aren't relevant. In one of the more recent updates something has changed so that every time I open the app the view that's displayed is my top level account, so all items, from all collections are visible all the time. How can I select a collection as default so that I only see items from this collection rather than from every login from every collection? Thanks139Views3likes5CommentsAutomate backup / export
Hi, I want to have the most important data always available somehow. So let's assume, the worlds internet break up and I can't connect to any of your servers. This is also concerning, if done by accident: If you delete a vault in your 1Password account, this is permanent and deleted vaults cannot be restored. I really need a local backup. As I can see the only option is an unencrypted local export (1PUX)? Is there any way to automate this? (preferrably in an encrypted form!) Thanks142Views0likes4CommentsShow the requested credential
I'm heavily using 1password now for agentic usage. All of my business is set up on it now, and all of my credentials are locally using op://, or service accounts. I've put in a lot of effort to try and isolate systems using least privilege, but one problem is that when agents (or applications) request a credential from the system, it doesn't say WHAT credential is being requested. Half the time it doesn't even say the correct name for the application making the request, either. This is a big problem, because I'm starting to get into the habit of just spamming "Accept" blindly. But the whole reason I have set up this whole pipeline is so I can catch malicious programs trying to gain access - for example, supply chain attack infections. Without seeing what credential is being requested, and the process information that is requesting it, I'm finding it's not actually adding much protection at all, because it's putting me into a false sense of security and promoting bad habits. If I'm running multiple agents in parallel, which is often the case, it might just say "Terminal requests access to your vault" or something similar. Which terminal is that? What is the underlying entity being requested? What credential? What is the process ID or terminal title, so I can isolate it to a terminal/agent? Etc. I think this is something that urgently needs to be added. Otherwise, as it stands, it's not really offering much protection because users will just go "oh, it's probably just that agent running - I'm sure it's fine" and accept everything. If that agent happened to have installed a malicious npm package, you'd probably catch it too late.33Views0likes3CommentsI Generate my 1pw Password by misstake
I am facing a issue accessing my personal account. By mistake, I changed my account password using the password generator inside the app, which logged me out of all devices. Currently, I do not have the new password or the recovery code, but I do have my Secret Key and my Emergency Kit. This account contains all of my important email and service passwords, so losing access is a major problem. Could you please advise me on the official steps I can take to restore access, or confirm if there are any recovery options available given that I have the Emergency Kit and Secret Key? I’ve tried every possible method, but unfortunately I still can’t access my 1Password account. I don’t have the Recovery Code, and I logged out of my phone because it was asking for the new password that was generated through your app and saved inside it — which I can no longer access. I’m fine with deleting the account. However, I want to keep the subscription I already paid for on my old account and have it transferred to the new one after deletion. Thank you very much for your support.53Views0likes2CommentsFeature request: Allow Watchtower to be filtered by vault
Often different people are responsible for different folders especially in a business environment. When using Watchtower to list Reused passwords, Weak/vulnerable passwords etc I would like to filter this by my area(s) of responsibility (eg, IT, Dev, Sales, Marketing vaults or my personal vault). Defaulting to all vaults is good.25Views1like1CommentCan't share a vault with a Guest
Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone in the community has run into this before, because I've exhausted what I can try on my side and I'm still waiting on a reply from Support and Success. The situation: I invited a client to my Business account as a Guest. He accepted the invitation, created his account, and I confirmed his access. His status is now Active and he is not assigned to any vault. However, every time I try to add him to a vault, I get this error: Failed to add person to vault. An unexpected error occurred. Error Code: 400 What I've already checked / tried: I'm the only team member on the account and I hold owner/administrator permissions, so I have full rights to manage vaults and people. The guest is not assigned to any other vault. Tried adding him from the vault side (Manage Access) and from the person side (People → user profile → Vaults). Both fail with the same error. Deleted the user entirely and re-invited him from scratch. He accepted again, I confirmed him again, and the error persists. Tried a different browser and an incognito window — same result. Has anyone seen this before? Is there something I might be missing, or a workaround that's worked for you? Thanks in advance for any pointers.43Views0likes2CommentsExport function on Mobile
I think it is annoying that the export function is STILL not available for mobile users; I use 1Password on mobile (Android 16) and on a tablet, using Samsung DEX. (I don't own a Windows, Apple or Linux computer or laptop). As the plan is getting more expensive, I want to change to a different provider, so I need to export to CSV, but 1P doesn't allow this. This isn't a new Feature request, because as I look in different discussions that are started, I already noticed this is requested several times. When will you guys wake up and give people the option to export?79Views0likes5CommentsDisappointing Support Model for a Critical Account Access Issue
I wanted to share my recent experience with 1Password support because, honestly, it has been very disappointing. I had an issue resetting my password after receiving the 1Password recovery code. I tried pretty much everything I could find on the support site, but nothing worked. After that, I started a chat with the online bot, and the response I essentially received was: if nothing works, delete the account and create a new one. That is a very poor support experience, especially for a password management service where account access is critical. I understand security is important, and I fully expect there to be proper verification steps, but simply pointing someone toward deleting the account and starting over feels like a very weak solution. I then submitted a support ticket on Thursday, May 14, at 9:08 PM. As of now, I have not received even a basic acknowledgment that someone is looking into the issue — no email, no call, nothing. What makes this more frustrating is that when it comes time for payment, the process is immediate and very efficient. But when a customer actually needs help accessing the service, the support model feels slow, impersonal, and not very reassuring. I have liked 1Password, but this experience has made me seriously question whether I should start looking at other password management apps. When a service is responsible for something as important as passwords and account access, support needs to be much better than this. Very disappointed.74Views0likes2CommentsHow to customize the suggested item name in the auto-save prompt?
Hello. When a user saves a new login on our site (e.g. app.acme.io), the "Save in 1Password" prompt defaults to a name derived from the domain so we get "Acme" instead of "acme.io". It doesn't match our brand. We've already done what compatible-website-design recommends: brand-name <title>, application-name, apple-mobile-web-app-title, og:site_name, manifest.webmanifest (name / short_name), correct autocomplete attributes. None of these influence the suggested name. Questions: Is there a client-side mechanism (meta tag, well-known endpoint, JSON-LD…) we're missing to declare our brand name for the auto-save prompt? If not, what's the official process to submit a domain + brand name + logo to 1password Rich Icons / website database? Thanks.22Views0likes0Comments
