I've figured out how to generate a password in the Windows 11 app and the Firefox extension for the same operating system. I also found the option to set the generation method as a default. What I don't understand is, if I set the default, will that be for all web sites, or just the one I'm working on when I choose the default option? What I would like would be an ability to set a series of defaults for all websites: Smart, if 1Password knows the rules for the website Memorable Password otherwise7Views0likes0Comments"Download Your Information. We want happy customers, not trapped ones."
I have notice in this forum over many years, questions regarding 'exporting data'. The title above is from the 1Password website Privacy Policy. 1Password appears to offer 2 ways of exporting data - 1PUX or CSV. The CSV route, exports a limited set of fields and so anyone making extensive use of 'Custom Fields' is not going to get 'all their data'. The route producing a 1PUX file, apparently 'DOES' export all data, including 'Custom Fields' but not 'Passcodes' 1Password kindly explains the '1PUX' , "Unencrypted Export Format" which includes 'File Structures', 'Export Attributes', and numerous other "Attributes' - which frankly, for the average end user, is confusing and unattainable. We are generally not trained in software development, data engineering or degree level understanding of JSON (whatever that is) If I wish to access 'MY' data, as a normal enduser, it appears to be impossible. I would very much like to download ALL my data in a format that does not require me to have a PHD! To reference your own words above - I would like to download my information and be a happy customer, not a trapped one. I would be grateful if someone could address this please. Note: I am aware of the security issues regarding unencrypted files - but that should be my choice, with 'my' data. Thank you48Views0likes4CommentsHow does the recovery of a private vault in the Family account work
I’m trying to wrap my head around how private vault recovery works when someone forgets their Master Password. From what I understand, the Master Password plus the Secret Key are used to lock and unlock the keys that actually protect all the vault data. The client device generates the Master Unlock Key each time a user accesses 1Password by providing the Master Password, which is combined with the Secret Key. The asymmetric keys that are kept securely encrypted on the server, right? If the Master Password is lost, the user can’t generate the Master Unlock Key to obtain keys, so they can’t get into their private vault. At that point, the account organizer can start the recovery process. What I don’t get is: what additional piece of information does the organizer and/or the server have that makes it possible to get back the keys needed to decrypt the vault? I realize that the recovery process also involves extra safeguards, such as a secure email, which should keep outsiders locked out even if they somehow got the Secret Key. But if some piece of recovery data really is stored on the servers, what’s stopping a malicious insider from bypassing the email step and taking over the vault? Could you point to documentation that explains this? Thank you!56Views0likes6Comments🌟 Join Tomorrow’s Office Hours!

When attempting to log in to a target website using 1Password, my target website indicated my password was incorrect. I checked the 1Password Win 11 desktop app and saw the screen below. Note the password is "Password" and, while properly indicating the password was vulnerable, the field next to "Password" indicates the password is "fantastic." Of course, no one who values a service like 1Password would ever use the password "Password," nor did I. Even if someone attempted to use "Password" a target website would likely reject it. I did immediately change the target website password, but I had to view my password history on 1Password to satisfy the target website requirements to provide the current password in order to change passwords. However, I checked 1Password about a day later and once again saw that the password had been reset to "Password." How did this happen? Could it also happen (or has happened) to one or more websites in my vault? I have contacted 1Passord support, and they weren't able to answer my question. I offered to send system logs. Their response was that I had done something wrong. When I asked my request be elevated to a higher level of tech support, I was ignored.18Views0likes1CommentBulk-ignore weak password warnings
I appreciate the "ignore" feature for weak password warnings (some valid reasons for using it are listed here and there are some more here), but it appears that it's only possible to mark these warnings "ignored" for a single item at a time. It would be helpful to be able to select a batch of items and ignore the "weak password" warning for all of them at once.17Views0likes1Comment"Sign In With" Provider Not Available
When I add a "Sign in with" option to a login, I can't select any of my existing logins as the correct credentials. I seem to only be offered providers such as Google, Facebook, Twitter/X, etc. For example, Shop (shop.app, also known as Shopify?) is a provider that is linked to many, many stores ... at least in Australia. It's great that I can just sign in with Shop when I'm on a new site and checking out, but I'd like to remember that's how I logged in and 1PW just doesn't allow it. I see this has been raised before and there's a thank you message from the support staff along with these "ref" numbers, such as: ref: PB-48105670 ref: PB-48105687 What are these numbers? How can we use them to check up on the status of a request? Google only finds the one specific thread where this number was posted before the conversation was locked so it seems to perhaps just be a number to make people think something is being done when really the request is thrown onto a pile that is never really looked at? Any information on how to follow up on these would be helpful, the "Sign in with" feature has been out for a while and people have been requesting this a lot so if it's not even turned up in a beta build, I'm concerned at 1PW's turnaround time for adding an easy feature to their software; even if it's rolled out in two phases where the first is just cosmetic until the second phase actually introduces functions like auto-forwarding and selecting the provider for login etc. Thanks team.34Views1like4CommentsLogin & Autofill Issues: Wrong Credentials Suggested and Cluttered Dropdown
I'm writing to request assistance with several frustrating issues I'm experiencing with my 1Password account. I've tried to troubleshoot them myself, but have been unsuccessful in resolving the problems. The main issues are: Incorrect Credentials for Specific Sites: When I try to log in to certain websites (a primary example is Reddit), 1Password suggests and autofills a set of credentials that are now incorrect. Even after I manually change the password on the website and choose "Update" in 1Password, the problem persists. When I attempt to log in, the site rejects the credentials filled by 1Password. Cluttered and Inaccurate Inline Dropdown Menu: On login pages for services like Gmail, the inline dropdown menu shows a long list of suggestions. This list includes all of my various Gmail accounts (which is expected) but also contains logins for completely unrelated websites, making it challenging to select the correct account quickly. Here is what I have already tried to resolve this: I have opened the main 1Password application and searched for the affected logins (e.g., "Reddit"). I have verified and updated the website URLs for these logins to ensure they are correct (e.g., https://www.reddit.com). I have ensured that I am using the latest version of the 1Password browser extension and desktop application. I need to have this fixed, but it's excruciating to wait a day to hear back from support. Is there a way to pay for support so I can get my work done? Do I have to purchase a business account instead of a personal one, even though I am using it personally? I don't know about anyone else, but email support misses something personal Thanks24Views0likes1CommentTOTP Scan QR Code Is Limited to Camera, but I Want On-Screen
I went to edit an existing login to add a one-time password and it let me tap to scan a QR code but the only option was with the camera (as if the QR code were off the device). If the QR code is on the device itself and is on screen, can the 1Password app scan that? Workaround was to use an iPad to edit the login and iPad camera took a picture of the iPhone screen. Another alternative would have been under the QR code was an option to get a code. iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 18.6.2 with 1Password for iOS 8.11.912Views0likes1CommentMRC converter, two password field
