1P ALWAYS wants me to enter master password to enable Windows Hello

I'm having the same issue. On both my laptop & my desktop. Even though I have it set to every 30 days.
1Password Version: 8.10.52
Extension Version: 8.10.52.25
OS Version: Windows 11 23H2
Browser: Firefox 132.0.2

My issue got resolved pretty simply with some excellent help from 1Password support. I had failed to select the option "Keep 1Password in the notification area". This keeps 1Password running in the background so it's available to do the unlock. Once I set that, I was always prompted with Windows Hello for the unlock (except once every 30 days when it asked for the password).

Thank you for the link. Being prompted for Windows Hello after unlocking 1Password for Windows using your account password is a known issue that our developers hope to fix in a future update.

By "these issues" I mean Windows Hello-related issues. Mine is similar, not exact. https://1password.community/discussion/148891/windows-hello-prompt-comes-up-every-time-i-unlock-the-vault-using-a-password#latest
It seems like issues affecting this area of experience (unlocking the vault) are not being prioritized. If that means 1P's about to drop a radically improved sign-in experience, like delegating the vault unlock to Windows Hello at sign-in, and we're hoping that release fixes all these issues, then I'm looking forward to it.

Thank you for reaching out. Are you also unable to use Windows Hello (biometrics or PIN) to unlock the 1Password for Windows desktop app? Are you instead always prompted for your account password like the others in this thread?

Hi team, wanted to check if these issues are getting prioritized, since there have been 2-3 different releases since the 1Password team confirmed the issue and the issue is still not fixed.

I've found a few posts regarding this issue, but I think this is the latest. I am also having the same issue: Windows Hello is working very well across the system (Windows 11, Surface Laptop 5), but after 1Password locks (automatically or manually) it always asks for the password and never the Windows Hello PIN both from the app and the extension.
It used to work correctly but went into this state a few weeks ago. I have 1Password on two other computers and the Windows Hello connection works just fine on both.
I'll follow the steps given elsewhere to send in a diagnostics report.

I'm sorry that you're being prompted for your account password more often than expected. Even if you set "Confirm my account password" to "30 Days", you might still be asked for your account password in certain cases such as:
- If your face or fingerprint isn’t recognized, or there was an error on your companion device.
- If you’re trying to change your account password.
- If you’ve restarted 1Password, including after updating 1Password or restarting your PC, when the Trusted Platform Module isn’t turned on.
Can you tell me if you might have run into one of these cases? If you haven't then can you post a screenshot of what you see on your screen?
