4 years agoAn update: the support representative had me remove and reinstall 1Password completely, and this seems to have done the trick. Here is the procedure they had me follow, in case it's useful to anyone else:
- Quit all open web browsers.
- Right-click 1Password mini in the menu bar, then Quit. (If you see "Quit 1Password Completely", that's 1Password 7.)
- Drag 1Password from the Applications folder to the Trash. Do not use an "app cleaner" or "uninstaller" tool to remove the app or additional files. If prompted, enter the password you use to sign in to your Mac.
- Restart your Mac.
- Quit any open web browsers and then install 1Password.
- Open and unlock 1Password before opening your web browser.
Also, FWIW, my guess was that the problem had something to do with the extension, since it was happening on focus shifts in the browser and not other apps, and that it was the extension over-enthusiastically requesting the main application to activate.
