This issue has actually been around for a while, not sure if v6 had this, but v7 definitely suffer from this, either.
Same behavior are also observed on iTerm (An third party terminal) when you toggle the "Secure Keyboard Entry" option.
I'm guessing that some mouse is scrolling by mimicking keyboard input instead of actually dispatch scrolling signal, which malfunctioned when the secure keyboard entry is activated.
