1Password 8 on MacOS extremely sluggish / slow to respond

I'm running MacOS Monterey 12.6 on a Mac Studio (M1 Ultra w/64GB) and if I hit "CMD \" from within Chrome OR Safari it takes 6 to 8 seconds for the 1password dialog window to appear (or for it to autofill the form). Is it possible to downgrade back to 1Password 7?
