1Password crashes browser on specific type of sign-in prompt

1Password often crashes the browser on sites that use the browser built-in authentication prompt. This has happened to me on multiple sites, including a qbittorrent client I have set up on a VPS, as well as sites I serve locally on my home server.

When it crashes, it crashes the whole browser.

However, it doesn't happen every time. I can't say precisely how often it happens, but it probably happens to me once every day or two (I use sites like this multiple times per day).

Just to be clear, 1Password never crashes for me in any other scenario. It is only with sites that use this specific type of sign in prompt. I am almost positive this is a browser built-in type of prompt, as opposed to a typical HTML form.

I use Brave browser, with 1Password extension. I'm on an m1 MacBook Pro.

    Hi chill​ welcome to the Community! Thanks for reporting this, and my apologies for any trouble. 

    From some quick testing, I wasn't able to replicate this behavior on a basic Auth sign in. Have you seen this behavior in other browsers, or just Brave? I'd also like to ask where in the sign in flow does the crash occur?

      I've been using Brave exclusively so I haven't seen it elsewhere.

      It often crashes right when I unlock 1password via touch id on my macbook. However, I think sometimes, though less often, it crashes after that, like maybe right after I autofill the form.

        When you next encounter this crash, I'd like to ask you to send in a diagnostics report from 1Password in the browser. You can attach the diagnostics file to an email sent to support@1password.com. This will help the team with further investigating the issue.
