1Password Extension is not autofilling
Today I was working in my web browser and found that the 1Password extension was not filling in information. I then opened the app and noticed that the small banner at the bottom of the app telling me that an update was ready was visible. Being in the middle of something I postponed the update and became frustrated because the 1Password extension was not pasting content.
It then occurred to me that perhaps the reason for this behavior is that app update was required for the extension to actually do its job. So I updated the app and then voila the extension worked.
So a question for the 1Password team, does the extenstion stop working when the 1Password app needs to be updated? Or was this likely a coincidence?
FYI:
Extension Version: 8.10.64.7
macOS version: 15.3.2
Orion RC Browser version: 0.99.132-rc (WebKit 621.1.2.111.4)

Hello AgingKeeper! 👋
I'm sorry that you ran into issues with 1Password in the browser. Off the top of my head, I can't think of a reason why 1Password in the browser would stop allowing you to fill or paste login credentials just because there was an update pending for the desktop app. Sometimes, a pending update for your browser might cause issues but that doesn't sound like what happened here. That being said, Orion isn't an officially supported browser that the team tests 1Password in so it's possible that you ran into an issue that I'm not aware of.
When 1Password stopped working in your browser, did you see the 1Password icon in username/password fields? Did you still see login suggestion like the following and just filling didn't work?
Or was the 1Password icon, and login suggestions, completely missing?-Dave

Hi Dave,
No reason to be sorry, I know I need to take my lumps because Orion isn't officially supported.
The behavior I was seeing in this instance included the icon but the down facing caret would toggle 90 degrees as it seems to do when there is no content for a site and nothing would happen. As I said downloading the new 1Password fixed this issue for me.
The 1Password extension doesn't operate nearly as good in Orion as it does in Safari. Given that Orion is not officially supported I tend to ignore issues until they get under my skin & I have some time to submit a note. Should I be reporting these issue to the Orion folks, to you all, to both?? I'd like to help make the extension work better, but if the input isn't going to be helpful I won't spend the time. Understanding of course that all of my input will of course be of the highest quality 🤣.

Thanks for the reply, my apologies for the delay. If you can reproduce the same issue in both Safari and Orion then report that issue to us and we can troubleshoot further. Hopefully, since both browsers are based on WebKit, resolving the issue for Safari will also resolve it for Orion.
If you see an issue only in Orion, and not Safari, then I would recommend reporting that to the Orion team first. If they need any additional information from our end then we'd be happy to help as much as possible.
