1password wastes battery activating Nvidia GPU

Here's how to notice.

It happens as soon as the unlock screen loads. It doesn't happen when 1password is locked.

Instructing Windows to use Power Saving for %LOCALAPPDATA%\1Password\app\7\1Password.exe makes no difference.

Thanks for the follow-up, @brunouy. I'll file this with our developers to see what we can do about it. Thanks for taking the time to bring this up!

http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/how-much-battery-life-does-nvidia-optimus-save.805170/ discusses the battery savings. Disabling the NVIDIA GPU doubles the battery runtime.

The battery lasts less when the Nvidia GPU is turned on compared with the Intel GPU. Even plugged in, the Nvidia GPU generates more heat, turns on the fans and produces more noise. There are a lot of old reports of this issues with 1p but on mac.

Hi @brunouy, can you tell me a little more about your concern here? For example, does this significantly impact performance for you, or are you able to notice any tangible difference in battery life? We're happy to discuss this and figure out how to keep improving the app going forward. 👍
