Setup for family sharing computer
Background:
My wife and I share a desktop and a laptop PC. We use the same windows logon on both. We have separate email accounts. We have a 1Password family. During the trial period and before creating my wife’s vault, I installed the PC version on both computers and installed the browser extension for Foxfire. After importing my passwords, we established my wife’s vault. When we logon to 1Password online we can choose whose vault we want to logon to.
The Problem:
The PC version and the browser extensions are linked to my vault. I have not been able to discover a way to get either of them to offer a choice of whose vault we want to logon to. Is there a setting I am missing? Or do I need to setup separate user accounts on each PC? If the latter, will we still be able to use the same browser?
I'd appreciate any help or suggestions.
It's not possible to add multiple accounts from the same Family to the desktop application.
I'm a heavy Mac user so the following is geared to that. The same principle would apply to Windows.
1Password is set up as a single-user type of app. That being, one macOS user is able to use the app with their Password. Separate OS user accounts for each of you is the best way to accomplish what you are looking to do. The advantage of this is when you log in, you have your computer in front of you. You have access to your email, instant messaging, customization, and settings.

Fast User Switching is the key to this kind of setup. My family has used this feature for a long time now. I think you'll like it once you get it set up, and it's not really a hard task, more of one that you might be unaccustomed to using. Alternatively, you could also log into each of your accounts using separate browse profiles. Still, you would be unable to use things like Touch ID or Apple Watch Unlock, and even then, only one would be able to use the Desktop app. For this reason, I highly recommend individual macOS user accounts.

Thanks for your reply, @gardenburgers, and sorry to hear the issue persists. Could I confirm that you're only seeing this in Safari? If you've tried any other browsers, did they behave the same? Does the 1Password 8 Mac app itself function as expected?
If you haven't already, I'd like you to try the following:
- Double check that both 1Password and Safari are up to date
- Restart 1Password
- Restart Safari
- Restart your computer
If nothing changes after that, please create a diagnostics report from your Mac:

Hey andrew_l_1P,
Yes I'm still having the same issue - there seems to be high latency with both form fills and even just opening the browser extension popout (takes a while to recognize the site I'm on). I have a couple videos and happy to chat more if interested.
Thanks!

Hi @CraigT45,
Sorry to hear 1Password isn't behaving in your browser as expected. Since you mentioned you're using Safari, can you tell me if you see an app called
1Password for Safari
in your Mac's applications folder? If not, you can download it here: Get started with 1Password in your browserIf you downloaded it, I'd like you to check your Safari preferences again to see if
1Password for Safari
appears under Extensions. If so, go ahead and enable it and try autofill again.Let me know how this goes, looking forward to resolving this with you!
And thanks for the assist, @gardenburgers, very much appreciated! Are you still seeing a delay when trying to autofill with 1Password? Would love to get that sorted with you too while we're here. 🙂

I saw an earlier Comment about identifying a 1 Pwd 'extension' Under Safari Preferences... but I can't find it again and there isn't anything about 1Pwd in the Extensions Tab

I have gone to Safari, Preferences, Extensions (nothing there) and Advanced.... Nothing appears relavant

No...I haven't tried that. So...do the Open/Fill Fx... then just wait on the 'receiving site to see if it populates?

Hey Craig - I have a different OS version than you but have you tried using the function and waiting 10-20 seconds without clicking anything?
For me, it "technically works", but on Safari I'll have to open a sign-in page and wait for a short period of time before the 1P prompts all appear/fill/login.
