A secure note has disappeared
For some reason I can't determine, a secure note that I was editing disappeared completely. I was adding things to it and was interrupted and when I looked for it to continue, it was nowhere to be fo...

Hello EllenH! 👋
I'm happy that you were able to find your Secure Note in the Archive. The Archive is a place to put items that you don't want to show up in search results, or as suggestions in the browser, and it sounds like you're seeing expected behaviour there. You can read more about the Archive here: Archive and delete items
Let me know if you have any other questions.

A minute after posting the above question, I had an idea. I went to each vault and selected "Secure notes" and then looked at all the notes one by one. And I found the note I thought had disappeared in the archive. Great!
But how is it that a search doesn't find it? I tried to find it using Search and knowing it was there and nothing was found.

Thanks for your message, Dave.
I had the impression that it was now possible to search in the Archive. Apparently, this feature (or maybe bug), requested for years, has come and gone. I archived unused files recently because I thought things had changed permanently. This was obviously a mistake on my part.
I need to search old items once in a while, so I have now restored all the files in Archive to a special vault that I have used for obsolete items for years. I prefer to find too many items, even 10 or 20, and choose the one I need instead of having to search through more than 1200 items in Archive without any help from search.

There are two different ways to find items in the 1Password app:
- The Search tool: this is the search field at the top of the app window. It'll search through all vaults in the currently selected account or collection. Archived items are not included in search results.
- The Find tool: this can be accessed by tapping on the Find icon at the top of a list of items in the desktop app (it looks like a magnifying glass) or by pulling down on a list of items in the mobile apps. The Find tool can be used to find items in the Archive.
Here's an screenshot of where you can find each tool in the desktop app:I hope that helps.
