Account settings appears to be lying and confused about the annual discount.
Hello, I was considering changing my 1Password personal subscription to an annual plan for https://1password.com/pricing/password-manager. So I went to billing settings and found where I can edit...

1 month agoHi Passwordfiend,
Thanks for sharing this – I can see why the pricing screens are confusing and can clarify what’s happening.
It looks like you're currently on an older monthly plan at $3.99/mo, and we continue to honor that price for customers like you. When switching billing frequency (monthly -> annual), the system moves accounts to our current pricing, and the 20% discount reflects the annual savings off today’s monthly rate — not the legacy rate you currently pay. That’s why the numbers don’t look aligned.
You’re also seeing a separate 40% off promotion on our website for new customers for their first year. If you'd like to email support@1password.com with a link to this thread, we can make an exception and give you the promotional price with the switch over to an annual subscription.
The product experience is something we take seriously, and your note is fair — we can present this much more clearly and I’ve passed that feedback on. Thank you and let me know if you have any questions!

I’ve run into the same issue. I’ve been a loyal 1Password customer for six years, consistently paying around $35.88 annually since 2019.
When I saw the advertised annual price of $28.68 (calculated as $2.39 × 12), with no disclaimer that it was an introductory rate, I felt misled. As a long-term subscriber, I was paying more than new customers.
Out of frustration, I canceled my plan, hoping to resubscribe at the $28.68 rate.
But when I tried, I discovered that the annual plans are now even more expensive. This feels unfair and disappointing, especially for those of us who have supported 1Password for years.
Now I’ve lost access to my $35.88 annual plan, can’t get the advertised $28.68 plan, and instead I’m faced with a $47.88 annual plan. WOW!- 1P_Timothy1 month ago
