Attempting to install 1Password 8 on Win10 fails silently

I am trying to upgrade from 1Password 7.9.833 (currently installed) to 1Password 8 (the latest installer *.exe, downloaded 2023-05-11). When I run the installer, there is prompt "Install 1Password...
