Hello folks,
We’re sorry about the issues that you’ve reported when using 1Password in Safari. We’re happy to share that the latest update to macOS and iOS includes improvements to Safari that resolve a bug where 1Password's suggestion menu would stop working and autofill will stop filling in certain situations.
- If you’re using a Mac, update to macOS version 15.6: Update macOS on Mac
- If you’re using an iPhone or iPad, update to iOS version 18.6: Update iOS on iPhone and iPad
We also recommend taking the time to make sure that you’re using the latest version of 1Password for Safari.Thank you for your patience as we worked with our partners at Apple to resolve the issue. If you're still seeing the issue then please send an email to support@1Password.com so that the team can help further.

7 months agoIt sounds like you may have been in the middle of an update. We recently released a new version of 1Password. Can you try the following and let me know how it goes the next time you experience it? It should help and not require you to restart the Mac.
During an update, the communication between the browser extensions and the app is severed by macOS. The following steps will restart that connection. This would be the only way to reestablish the communication.
1. Look for our helper in the menu bar near the WiFi indicator and the clock. Right-click (Option-click) on the helper and select quit 1Password completely.
2. Quit your browser.
3. Wait a few seconds and then open 1Password from the Dock or the Applications folder and unlock
4. Open your browser.

Hi Dave, this continues to be an ongoing and frequent issue on my system. Is there any word from your team that they are actually taking steps to resolve this rather irritating bug?

Thanks for the follow-up. Our team reached out to our friends at Apple and currently there are improvements being tested in the latest version of the Safari Technology Preview which seem to resolve the issue. Hopefully the improvements will be released to the stable version of Safari soon as well.
For the time being, opening the website in a new tab or restarting Safari, should get things working again for you when you do run into the issue.
