Autofill. - any progress? At all? When might we expect this basic function to work?

To confirm if I quit Safari completely and then reopen inline autofill is available.
It's a bit of a faff to have to close down an application only to reopen it to get 1P inline autofill to work though......and whilst I appreciate it's being investigated, as I alluded to above, problems with autofill seem to have been a persistent issue since v8 was released - its such a fundamental if not THE fundamental part of 1P for me, and that's what's so frustrating.
