Hello folks,
We’re sorry about the issues that you’ve reported when using 1Password in Safari. We’re happy to share that the latest versions of macOS and iOS includes improvements to Safari that resolve a bug where 1Password's suggestion menu would stop working and autofill will stop filling in certain situations.
- If you’re using a Mac, update to the latest macOS version (15.6 or later): Update macOS on Mac
- If you’re using an iPhone or iPad, update to the latest iOS version (18.6 or later): Update iOS on iPhone and iPad
We also recommend taking the time to make sure that you’re using the latest version of 1Password for Safari.Thank you for your patience as we worked with our partners at Apple to resolve the issue. If you're still seeing the issue then please open a new thread so that we can investigate further.

Hi Dave,
Just happened to me and I tested as you asked. I tried to log in to outlook.com. This causes a number of security related redirects. The user id field is entered on its own page. After that another page prompts for the password.
When asked to enter my user id, 1Password autofill failed. I then opened a new tab. In the new tab, 1Password functioned properly on the user id page. 1Password failed on password page. I repeated that test with the same results. I restarted my browser and everything worked.
The last time this failed for me was on atlassian.com. They also prompt for the user id on a separate page from the password.

7 months agoThank you for providing those details. It sounds like you're running into a known issue in Safari 18.4 and later that our team is working with our friends at Apple to resolve. For the time being, opening the website in a new tab, or if that doesn't work then restarting Safari, should get things working again.
Alternatively, you can fill your login credentials using Universal Autofill if 1Password for Safari stops working: Use Universal Autofill in apps and browsers on your Mac

IP_Dave it’s been 2 months, has any resolution been suggested other than a new tab or restarting safari?

Thanks for reaching out. Apple is currently testing a fix for the issue in Safari Technology Preview and hopefully that fix will be released for the stable version of Safari soon.
For the time being, when you run into the issue, opening the website in a new tab continues to be the best workaround.

Thanks Dave,
Whenever the extension fails, Universal Autofill does as well. I'm somewhat confident in this, but I'll pay careful attention in the future and confirm or refute that in a later post.
