Browser authentication failure locked out all input

I just ran into a new issue. When unlocking 1Password in the browser the background became darker (as expected) when the authentication prompt appeared. Fingerprint authentication failed (which isn't all that unusual on my laptop), so I typed in my password. I erroneously typed in my system password rather than the one for 1Password a few times, then the password entry field disappeared. At that point, the authentication screen was blocking all other input and it refused to go away, ignoring all mouse clicks and key combinations. Neither the OS nor the app were frozen, in fact the cancel button changed state when rolling over or clicking, it simply didn't do anything.

I opened a virtual console and logged in with the same user account and searched for 1Password to kill it, but the process could not be found, which was strange. Eventually I forced a reboot from the virtual console. After restarting I checked the logs and these are the last lines of the log prior to rebooting.

Everything seems to work fine after the reboot.

I've never experienced this before and assume it is a bug, so here I am reporting it. There is nothing to troubleshoot. Thanks.
