Browser extension having issues with Windows Hello
1Password for Windows 8.12.0
1Password Browser PlugIn for FireFox 8.11.27.2
Firefox 147.0.1 64bit
Windows 11 Pro 25H2 OS Build 26200.7623
Recently, I have been having issues with signing into websites on Firefox browser.
Whenever I try to use 1Password, it will pop up with the usual Windows Hello dialogs to see if it recognises me. Windows Hello will be successful but report "Something went wrong" and re-attempt the Windows Hello authentication. This happens endlessly. Each time, I am authenticated and then it reports something went wrong.
If, however, I open the 1Password app first and use Windows Hello to authenticate there, it works first time without any issues (I noticed another bug with the app and will briefly explain that at the bottom). Windows Hello also works fine for all Windows authentication including when I first login in the morning, when I unlock my PC when I come back from lunch, etc.
I have not changed my Firefox browser plugin setup for at least a year now. Firefox may download updates from time to time. Windows Updates are regularly installed automatically as Microsoft releases them on a Tuesday.
Is this a known problem? I tried searching for Windows Hello issues but nothing similar seem to come up here.

Hi 1P_Gem
Thank for your reply. I wanted to give you an update to this strange issue. I was trying to replicate the issue again as it was persistent before I reported it here. The rationale was so that any diagnostic log files will include recent events of the issue I have.
I did something different so as to include as much information as possible in the log capture. I tried to enter a PIN which I had also setup along with the facial recognition signin I normall use for Windows Hello. When I used the PIN, that worked fine. After the PIN worked, it must have fixed or reset something in the way 1Password uses Windows Hello and when I tried facial recognition again with my Logitech camera, Windows Hello worked consistently again after this.
In hindsight, after a week of having this issue, I should have tried to use the PIN first before reporting the issue. All good now. Thank you for your prompt reply. I know you folks are extremely busy!

Hi laugher, thanks for reaching out!
It's definitely strange that Windows Hello gets stuck in a "Something went wrong" loop unless you unlock via the desktop app first.
So that our team can investigate further (as well as work with you to reproduce the issue with the account password reveal button), I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from the 1Password desktop app:
Send a diagnostics report (Windows)
Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com
With your email please include:- A link to this thread: https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/browser-extension-having-issues-with-windows-hello/166761/replies/166763

The bug I noticed with the main 1Password app is that when it prompts me for my master password every now and then, if I tap the toggle for hide keystrokes, it will remain locked into "unhide" mode so no matter how many times I try to re-toggle it back to hide/conceal my password, it will always show my master password being typed. To fix this, I have to quit 1Password and restart it.
