Hello folks,
I understand how disruptive it can be that 1Password opens its main window on startup rather than running quietly in the background. I’m sorry for the inconvenience. This was a known limitation of Windows 10 affecting the MSIX version of 1Password, and it’s been resolved in version 8.11.22 and newer.
Please update to the latest version: How to keep 1Password up to date
Thank you for your patience as our development team worked to resolve the issue.

Previous builds (user since 2023) have all opened minimized to the system tray, with the password prompt only appearing when I actually click on "Unlock 1Password" in a browser window.
Since updating to 8.11.18, instead of opening to the system tray, 1Password now opens at system startup to a maximixed window prompting for a password.
Is there any way I can get it to return to the previous state of opening minimized on startup?
I've seen this behaviour on both my PCs

Windows 10 Pro 22H2
OS Build 19045.6575
Firefox 145.0

2 months agoIt's because they dropped the exe install, and the new msix pkg is bugged/not supporting silent launch.
Starting minimized is a basic functionality of countless programs, and it got broken.
If msix is such a silly format that it can't start minimised, just keep the exe going along with it, at least until MS comes up with a fix.
