Cancel subscription messes
Mess number 1
- I go to https://my.1password.com/billing/payments
- I see Cancel subscription
- It says When your billing period expires, your account will be https://support.1password.com/frozen-account
- I am fine with it as my next payment is on March 6, 2026
- I click Cancel subscription, choose my reason (personal reason, totally not related to Perplexity AI)
- My account became frozen immediately on the same website
When I click Cancel subscription, I expect my account to remain active until March 6, 2026 but it became frozen instead.
Mess number 2
- Still at https://my.1password.com/billing/payments
- I can see my Payment methods section is empty
- I am confused because I did not remove my card (nor there is a way to remove it)
When I click Cancel subscription, I did not expect my payment method to be deleted at the same time.
Maybe this is the cause of my account become frozen, no card = frozen?
Mess number 3
- Still at https://my.1password.com/billing/payments
- I want to subscribe to new plan to unfrozen my account
- I click the button to subscribe (don't remember which)
- In the popup, it says trial until March 6, 2026 (the original payment date) and my card won't be charged before that date
- I think it made sense, no card = frozen, simple enough
- I just need to have the same plan and my account will be back to active state until that date
- I don't plan to subscribe for another year if I forgot to cancel
- I chose monthly payment, worst case is I forgot and have to pay $8
- I click subscribe
- It says Your next payment is on December 22, 2025
When I see trial with a date, I expect trial with that date, not a bait and switch.
Now I don't know what to do, the chatbot is as useful as Anne Frank's drum kit.
Somehow I managed to get the chatbot to come up with support ticket ID RDX-98561-873.
But the context is all over the places so I guess I better write here with nice format.
