Cannot remove 1password because it is open

On my new Macbook 1password does not accept my password. I try to remove and reinstall 1password but removing does not work. I get the message that the app is open. I noted the previous discussion on this issue but the advice does not work for me. I hope you can help. Thanks, Ernest

    Solved, I do not understand why but it works.
    Possibly related to second user of MCBP
