Cant create .intunewin file from MSI

Hi All, We deploy apps for our Windows fleet via intune.  As such, the most efficient option is to repackage MSI files into .intunewin format. However, when doing this with the most recent MSI/EXE directly from 1pass, I get a strange error: ERROR  System.IO.IOException: Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software.

Not sure how to get the intunewin files I need. Any advice here?

  • Hello charlesmlambdalcom! 👋

I'm sorry that you're running into an error message with preparing a .intunewin file. I'm not an expert with Intune but I was able to create a .intunewin file using the latest version of the 1Password MSI and these instructions:

Try downloading a new copy of the MSI from our website as well as a new copy of the Microsoft Win32 Content Prep Tool from Microsoft's website and then try to follow the steps in that guide again.

If that doesn't work then at what step are you running into the error that your mentioned in your original post? Are you able to post a screenshot of what you see?
