Can't see the saved credentials for WiFi networks

Hi,

I have the following situation: Sometimes I use my smartphone to input the name and the password for one of my WiFi networks in captive portals of some smart home devices.

The problem is: I can't see my WiFi networks that I have saved in 1Password.

I don't expect autofill here, just the possibility to click to open 1Password and when I search for "wifi", I get as result my networks (all them have "wifi" in their names).

Please let me know if you need any screenshots.

Thanks,

Hi mhalano! Thanks for writing in.

When you're in the autofill menu that appears after tapping "Open 1Password" you'll only see items that correspond to the field type. So, if you tap a login field you'll only see login items, and if you tap a credit card field you'll only see credit card items.

If the fields in the captive portals are recognized as login fields it might be worthwhile to recreate your wireless router items as login items. That way they'll appear in searches, and can be filled. Otherwise you could consider adding the name and passwords of your most used networks as pinned fields so they're readily available when you go to the home screen of 1Password for Android.

Let me know if either of those options could work for you, or if there's anything I can help with. Thanks again!

Following this logic, where should I see the credentials for the wireless router appearing? Just when connecting to the network?

UPDATE: I made Android forget one of my networks, and when I try to fill in the password to connect to it, it appears the button to open 1Password, but it doesn't appear the wireless router items in 1Password.

        Thanks for your reply mhalano.

1Password for Android sees the type of the field, not the purpose of the page, and will suggest fillable items of the related type. 1Password for Android can fill login items, credit card items, and identity items, but not other item types.

For example, here's a network login page where you can see one of the sign in fields has the user_login id class, so 1Password will see it as a login field.

I made Android forget one of my networks, and when I try to fill in the password to connect to it, it appears the button to open 1Password, but it doesn't appear the wireless router items in 1Password.

The options here would be to paste the information from your wireless router item into the login fields, or create a new login item, save your network name and password within, then search for it when prompted by 1Password for Android.

Let us know if you have any questions, and thanks again!
