Hello everyone,
Earlier today, 1Password experienced a partial outage that affected both authentication and the saving and updating of items, in the browser. Our team has implemented a fix for the issue and is monitoring the results. You should be able to use 1Password in the browser normally again.
As we review today's events internally, any new information on the incident will be posted to our status page.
If you're still having trouble using 1Password, and the desktop app is installed, then follow these steps to reset the connection between the desktop app and 1Password in the browser:
- Open and unlock the 1Password desktop app.
- Click your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and click Settings.
- Click Browser.
- Turn "Connect with 1Password in the browser" off and then back on.
If you continue to see issues, or need help with these steps, then let us know and we can help further.

Thanks for the update, @bthoma! Indeed, we've been working hard to bring this functionality to 1Password 8. I've shared your comments with the team assigned to this project. Hopefully we'll be able to deliver on website field re-ordering soon as well. 🤞🏻

So, I just tried this out and it works great! I can drag fields between sections, within sections, and drag & drop to move sections, keeping their associated fields with them while they move. Totally the expected functionality and what was available in 1Password 7.
I will say it's a bit odd that "website" is locked and you can't move a section above it, but I kind of get why. Either way, this flexibility makes 1Password so much more user-friendly (again!).
Thank you!

Oh, your timing is nearly impeccable, OP, and you have seriously waited too long. I just started using 1P a month ago, and man, being unable to re-order fields is really a loss, especially with the massive variety of items.
The good news, I hope: On 11 Jan, 1P empoloyee @MrRooni posted a demo, noting the reorder fields feature is nearly done.
The comment text:
Hey folks 🙂 Thanks for all the feedback and messages here. We've been working on adding the ability to reorder for a little bit now and while we still need to do some final code review before it becomes available for testing, I think I can share a preview here. Enjoy!

Hi 1P,
I started this thread many months ago now. I believe I have been very patient. As one person said further up, it's not really a feature request as it was a 'core' feature of a previous major version. If anything, V8 should not have been released until this was part of it. It is taking away core functionality and labelling re-implementation as a 'feature request'.
I, along with many people I know are very close to stopping using the product because of it. In 2023, there is all sorts of information that sits alongside a credential. All sorts of 'MFA recovery keys', all sorts of 'API keys' etc. etc. All of said information needs to be inside 1 object. The fact that these fields and sections can't be organised at all inside an object, more than a year after mainstream release is beyond shocking. I 'want' to start using V8, although I don't like some of the UX / UI design compared to V7, it 'has' however got a lot of improvements in terms of speed, reliability and so on. Here I am, 14 months after the release of V8 and I'm still stuck using V7. Which I might add, has a lot of issues in its own right. Especially when I’m forced to use V8 on mobile.
I understand 1P has taken a 'information close to your chest' stance on feature requests being implemented when it comes to dates and rollouts. However, this post / specific feature request is now many months old. Please, please provide more information than you currently have. If you are unable to provide a date or at least a rough date for this feature, I will be forced to leave 1Password and start using Keeper instead. Regardless of how large the migration job is. I will also have to start recommending the businesses and individuals I support (as an IT MSP / consultant) do the same.
This is very sad as I've used 1Password since its release many years ago, since it was a standalone app on iOS.
Please can you also remove the company name I stated in my original post. Maybe **** it out or something. Thanks.

I've merged two related threads together so that we can make sure that everyone is updated at the same time. 🙂
We tend to play things pretty close to the chest regarding features and updates in order to avoid disappointing folks if unexpected delays happen. My colleagues and I on the support team aren't able to share release dates. However, as soon as this feature is released we'll make sure to update this thread.
Thank you again for sharing how vital this feature is to your workflows.

If their lack of movement on the Face ID/Touch ID issues is any indication, you probably won't see this for quite awhile. Nor will you get any helpful updates.
