Categories in dropdown

Categories in dropdown seems to me a bad idea. It renders categories useless. Arguably they always have been because they are too static, and this is only a first step getting rid of them? Or have...

Guess what: in the newest Betas, you can now place Categories in the sidebar (if you prefer that layout).
