Cleaning 1Password on Windows

I have 1Password on my work Windows laptop. The company is doing a refresh (taking the old laptop to give me a new replacement). Do I need to do anything to remove 1Password before turning it in? What do you recommend. I also have the extension in the Chrome browser.

Thanks

  • Hi ajahn,

If you want to be thorough, you can always uninstall 1Password! That article also includes steps to delete all the the data related to 1Password that's actually stored on your computer. If you have the extension installed in any browsers, you can also learn how to remove it.

Let us know if we can be any help getting 1Password up and running on your new laptop, too!

1P_SimonH - Thanks for the info.

I plan to set up a VDI Windows desktop to do the few things I still do on my Windows laptop. I am not sure if the VDIs allow users Admin access. If I want to install 1P on that new VDI, will I need to do it as an Admin, or will normal user access be enough? Thanks.

        Hi ajahn,

If you're installing the regular EXE, you won't need admin privileges. Just make sure to configure the VDI so that your home folder is preserved across sessions!

One tip is that you'll want to turn off hardware acceleration for 1Password to improve performance.

Hope this helps and let me know if other questions come up!
