Crash Report send Failed?

Summary:

On every system boot, 1Password shows a crash dialog with options to Report, Ignore, or Send Later. I press Report. The application launches and functions normally after that, but the crash window appears consistently.

Version Info:

1Password for Windows: 8.10.78 (81078043)
OS: Windows 11
Platform: Desktop

Logs (excerpt):

INFO 2025-05-28T12:02:15.787+00:00 [client:typescript] Client starting.
INFO 2025-05-28T12:03:04.227+00:00 [1P:op-crash-reporting\src\lib.rs:247] sending crash reports
ERROR 2025-05-28T12:03:04.879+00:00 [1P:op-crash-reporting\src\lib.rs:288] HttpError(IoError(IoError(error sending request for url (<redacted URL>))))
ERROR 2025-05-28T12:03:04.879+00:00 [1P:op-crash-reporting\src\lib.rs:289] Crash report send failed, will retry at next startup.

What I've Tried:

Verified DNS and firewall settings – no blocks observed
Internet connection is stable
Report submission consistently fails according to logs

Expected Behavior:

Once the report is submitted, the dialog should not appear again unless a new crash occurs.

Questions:

Is there a manual method to force the crash report to send (or clear it)?
Are there known issues with crash reporting in this version?
Any suggestions to prevent the dialog on future startups?

Hi TataruTaru! Thanks for reporting this. My apologies for the trouble here.

Just to make sure I've understood correctly, do you see the crash dialogue after launching 1Password, or as soon as you open your profile in Windows? Additionally, does selecting any of the three options (Report, Ignore, Send Later) dismiss the dialogue until you next restart your system, or does the dialogue continue to pop up before then?

    Thanks again!

The issue resolved itself when the software updated. Before when I tried to open 1password, it was giving me an error every time.

But it feels like the update cleared any pending reports. The issue seemed to be it was unable to contact the redacted url, causing looping failure.

The error box only showed again on system restart or logging back into windows, never again once I remained logged into Windows.

Thanks for the update TataruTaru! I'm glad to hear the issue appears to be resolved.

Let us know if you start seeing anything similar in the future. We'll keep an eye for what you've described as well. Thanks again!
