Custom icon scaling

I have a similar problem with custom icons. I used to be able to scale the icon to fit the little icon space. With the current version I can only choose a new icon (or remove it) and that is it...no scaling so some icons are too big for the space and others to small. The previous functionality was cool...please bring it back. Thanks. Maureen
