"Discard your changes" when app opened
Nearly every day, when I open 1Password, it is on a random entry in edit mode with a message saying "Discard your changes." There are never unsaved changed, clicking "Discard" is always the best option every time I've checked carefully.
This has been going on for weeks/more and I see forum posts about this going back years.
Please help if there's something I can do to make this stop.
For anyone finding this by searching, this issue was resolved by resetting my 1Password install. Here is the excerpt from the instructions I received over email:
⚠️ Make sure that you have an up to date copy of your Emergency Kit or another device where you are signed into 1Password to hand, as you may need to enter all of your account credentials to re-add your account to the 1Password app after taking these steps.
- Open 1Password and choose 1Password > Settings from the menu bar.
- Click Advanced in the sidebar, then click Reset 1Password.
- Review the information in the pop-up, then click Reset 1Password.
- Sign back into 1Password and test things out.

It feels like there's this long queue of "recovered state" that the app is working through - no idea how it would've been created. Most of my entries are imports from CSV (Apple Passwords) and they're included in the list of ones that appear.

Hello ezfe! 👋
I'm sorry that you're seeing a "Discard your changes?" prompt unexpectedly. Can you tell me how you're opening 1Password for Mac when you see this message? For example, from the Dock or menu bar icon? Is it possible that 1Password was already open in the background because you might have tried to edit an item in the browser (which will open the desktop app)?
Does the message appear every time that you open 1Password? Or just randomly once a day?

This happens any time I open it, usually directly from Spotlight/dock/etc. I just tried and it opened to FlightRadar24 login in edit mode. I haven't visited that website recently and certainly haven't tried editing it from another spot.
Quitting and reopening and it now opens to Eversource, same status. A third try goes to Evernote, but the title is cut off ("Everyn"). When I discard changes, the title is now correct ("Evernote")
