Export Data

The information provided on your website is inaccurate.

I am trying to export MY data from your service.  I log in to All Vaults (home page) and there are not ellipses to click.

Same thing happens when I go to a specific vault.  No ellipses.  No way to EXPORT my data.

When I go to manage my Vaults, choose the settings icon in the bottom right corder of the vault, I can import data, but there is not a way to export the data.

HOW DO I EXPORT MY DATA?

BTW - do not send me a link to the INCORRECT instructions for 1Password version 8.  There are NO ELLIPSES to click (see photo #1).

  • I've read these messages, downloaded the desktop app for mac and cannot find the ellipses. This is beyond frustrating. Please help.

Thanks for your help, Dave! When exporting, how do I export to "Vault?" I don't see an option. It simply shows the name of my main Collection the only option.

Welcome to the community! You can find our export guide here: How to export your data from the 1Password desktop app

On the Mac, in the desktop app, you would follow these steps to access the export tool:

      1. Open and unlock the 1Password for Mac desktop app.
      2. Choose File > Export from the menu bar at the top of your screen and select the account you want to export.
      3. Enter your account password.
      4. Choose an export format (1PUX or CSV) and click Export Data.
      5. Choose where you want to export your 1Password data and click Open.

Let me know if you run into any issues.

      -Dave

    Hi mamagear3,

I'm sorry for the frustrating experience! It looks like you're trying to do this from your browser, but you'll need to use the 1Password desktop application to export your data. I'll ask our documentation team to see if we can update article to emphasize that more!

Yes--the instructions should really start with...download the desktop app--here is the link....I've been using 1Password for over 3 years and never used the desktop app.

Totally agree, mamagear3! We've updated the article to specify the desktop app both in the article title and in the first step of the instructions.
