Exported CSV missing notes is this an export setting or a bug?
Hi everyone I’m having trouble exporting secure notes and some custom fields from 1Password desktop (v8 on macOS). I exported a selection of logins as CSV, but the exported file seems to omit the Notes field for many entries.
I tried toggling the export options and exporting whole vaults vs selected items, with the same result.
Questions:
- Which export format reliably includes secure notes?
- Are there known bugs in v8 that drop notes during CSV export?
- Any safe workarounds to preserve notes when transferring items between vaults?
I found a short walkthrough that outlines a couple of export/convert approaches (1PIF→CSV) that might preserve notes:. I haven’t tried it yet and wanted to ask here first to avoid risky steps.

Thanks for the question! The CSV file only exports Login and Password items with a limited set of fields. You can find the fields documented here: How to export your data from the 1Password desktop app - Get Help
Notes should be included if they're the default notes field and not a custom text field that you added to the item. Can you clarify which of these you're not seeing in the CSV export?
If you're like to export a complete set of your data then you'll need to export to the 1PUX format. Can you tell me a little more about why you're looking to export your items? Are you moving to another password manager?
