Extension for Opera browser

Are there plans to develop a 1PassWord extension for Opera? It has been requested since a long time.

best wishes, popko

    Hey!

Its working - if you haven't tried on Windows + Opera with latest versions!
I just wanted to check on older community posts (+1 year) to see if there is an update to 1Password/Opera/Windows and before I just tried it out via Settings.
Either way - unlock 1Password in app or browser plugin - it unlocks either way.

Latest versions of 1Password, Opera, Plugin, Windows.

    1. Open 1Password app
    2. Go to Settings > Browser > Connect to additional browser > klick "Add Browser". A File-Window will open. Now navigate to installation Path of Opera or see 3.
    3. Locate your Install Path of Opera
      1. Right Click on Opera Logo and click "Properties"
      2. Copy the path of General/Location or Shortcut/Target
      3. Insert it in the File-Window and klick "Open"
    4. Opera should now be added into the list. Try to Lock/Unlock 1Password via App or Browser Extension. It will/should lock/unlock either way.

I might have missed this update feature before. Finally Opera + 1Password works again as I was using it +15 years :-)
Thanks 1Password developers for this feature finally added to 1Password on Windows :-)

  • Hello popko and Ldt! 👋

I'm happy to share that you can now use 1Password in Opera Browser:

    1. Install 1Password in Opera from the Chrome Web Store:

1Password – Password Manager - Chrome Web Store

    2. Add Opera to the 1Password app:

Connect additional browsers to the 1Password app

Note: Opera isn't a supported browser so you might run into unexpected issues. If you run into those same issues in a supported browser like Chrome then let us know and we can take a look!

  • Hello popko! 👋

Thanks for the question! Opera is a Chromium browser which means that you can install 1Password in Opera from the Chrome Web Store: 1Password – Password Manager

Currently, since Opera is not a supported browser, you'll need to unlock 1Password in Opera separately from the 1Password desktop app using your account password. We're working to bring our additional browsers feature to Windows (it's currently available for the Mac and Linux) so that you can add Opera as a trusted browser and have it lock and unlock at the same time as the desktop app.
