Feature Request: Printing

Thank you for the reply, I appreciate you providing those details about your use case. I can certainly understand how a printed copy would make it easier for some folks to navigate passwords in an emergency situation, especially if they're not technically savvy or already familiar with 1Password.

1Password 8 is a fresh start for us with a brand new experience and coded using modern languages and frameworks. However this means that all features need to be built from scratch, even if they previously existed in older versions of the app. Which features are built, and when, depends on a variety of factors that include customer demand, developer resources, and our existing product roadmap.

Historically, I've recommended that folks avoid printing their passwords and other items since that will remove them from the secure and encrypted environment of 1Password. Any exported or printed copy of your passwords will be in plain text and so will be readable by anyone who views it. When you pay your membership fee for 1Password, you're paying for a multi-level security system to protect your most important information. By printing your items, you bypass that security system entirely resulting in your passwords and other important information no longer being protected by 1Password.

All that being said, I do understand your need for such a feature. While I can't make any promises, I've passed along your request for a print feature to our product team. They'll consider the feature request as they're planning future versions of 1Password.

For the time being, if you need to print just a few items for your husband you can do so from 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app). Login to your 1Password account on the website, click on the item you'd like to print and then select File > Print in your browser. Items printed from the website will need to be printed individually.
