Zen Browser: Universal Autofill not working on macOS
Zen Browser support was added for Windows (discussion) but macOS still doesn't work.
1Password skips the b5x browser extension path entirely for Zen on macOS — goes straight to native accessibility APIs which loop through "Nothing to be filled" for ~30s and give up. The extension is installed and the native messaging host is configured at ~/Library/Application Support/zen/NativeMessagingHosts/com.1password.1password.json, but 1Password never attempts to use it.
Verified that Zen's macOS accessibility tree is structurally identical to Firefox's — same AXWebArea, AXTextField, AXSecureTextField elements with the same attributes, tested side by side on the same login form.
The macOS desktop app needs the same treatment as the Windows fix — recognizing app.zen-browser.zen as a browser so it routes through b5x.
- 1Password version: 8.10.x
- Extension version: installed from Firefox Add-ons Store
- OS version: macOS (aarch64)
- Browser: Zen Browser 1.19.12b

Hello mormubis! 👋
Thank you for reaching out! Zen Browser isn't a supported browser, on macOS or Windows, and Universal Autofill doesn't currently work in Zen Browser. I've let our development team know that you'd like to see support added in the future.
For the time being, you should be able to use the 1Password browser extension in Zen Browser to save and fill your logins instead. You can download it from the Mozilla Add-ons store. Then, add Zen Browser as an additional browser to the 1Password desktop app, so that 1Password in the browser can communicate with the desktop app, using this guide: Connect additional browsers to the 1Password app
One more thing, you mentioned using "1Password version: 8.10.x". It sounds like you're using an older version and I recommend updating: How to keep 1Password up to date
Let me know if you run into any issues.
