Hello,
lets say one day some hacker deletes all 1Password servers and backups. Or asteroid hits datacenter or something...
Bottom line: 1Password cloud is toast.

The 1password.sqlite file, saved locally on your computer, is the encrypted version of your 1Password vaults and so would need the 1Password app on your Mac to be able to unlock it and view it.
The file itself will remain where it is unless you delete it, so while you could choose to make an external backup of this file, there should be no need to. The only way you would lose access to that file would be if it was lost from your computer and 1Password.com was unavailable. This is exactly the same as if you were using a cloud storage provider for general files, like iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc. In those situations, data loss would only happen if the local copy of your files was unavailable, and so was the cloud storage provider. Think of 1Password.com in a similar way, but only hosting your 1Password database, instead of general storage.
