Has the iOS 26 passkey autofill UI changed?

I used to have a 1-click passkey autofill experience on iOS. Now the system defaults to "Scan a QR Code". I have to select 1Password from "Other accounts", press continue, authenticate, and then select the passkey from the 1Password UI.

Did something change recently? How can I go back to the more seamless experience I remember? Something like the second image?

I was able to fix the issue on the iPad by disabling AutoFill in General > AutoFill and Passkeys, renabling it, and then selecting 1Password.

I have exact issue, iPhone, tried the solution above and it does not work. Seemingly 1Password is not able to convince iOS that my passkey is there. Same account and passkey works completely well on desktop (both Mac and Windows)

    Hi Dave,

I'm having trouble reproducing this on my iPhone. I actually hadn't registered on passkeys.io and once I did, I saw the same dialog as you and which is what I expect.

I can, however, reproduce this on my iPad, even after registering an account on passkeys.io. I thought I may have fixed it on the phone by creating a passkey in the browser. It happens on all sites and with both Safari and Orion.

I understand this is rendered by iOS but I'm wondering if there's some combination of settings that  would fix it. Given there haven't been any replies and I didn't see anything online, I'll keep poking around at it and report back if I can reproduce.

  • Hello MIA787! 👋

Thank you for reaching out! The prompt in your screenshot is rendered by iOS AutoFill, and 1Password doesn't have control over how it displays on your iPhone. I've tested passkeys.io on my own iOS 26 device and I see an AutoFill prompt that looks like this:

Do you see the prompt in your screenshot on all websites where you sign in using a passkey? Or just on passkey.io? If you save a new passkey for passkey.io then does the same prompt appear? Are you using Safari or another browser?
