High background usage on iOS 26
Ever since I got my new iPhone 17 I'm seeing daily hours and hours of background activity from 1password, and it seems more people are suffering from the same issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/1Passwor...

iOS 26.1 (32B81) / 8.11.16 / iPhone 17 Pro
Issue was also present with 8.11.14 and all iOS 26.1 beta's, multiple restarts, background app refresh is disabled for 1PW.
5-15% battery usage per day

Are there any updates on this? New iphone 17, unacceptable battery drain, background app refresh is off.
Considering leaving 1password and I have seen people reporting this issue here and elsewhere for a month and am still waiting to see if there is a fix.

I don't have any updates to share however I haven't seen the issue on my own device since the latest update. If you update to version 8.11.18 do you still see the same issue?

Leaving the update here for others.
I reinstalled 1password app and it solved it for me. I noticed when i did that, the safari extension was now disabled and I did not switch it back on.
That was also in line with the customer support advice I received after:
“
Other users experiencing the issue have found improvement by disabling the 1Password for Safari extension. Could you try the following?
- Open the Settings app on your iOS device and navigate to Apps > Safari.
- Select Extensions, and toggle off the 1Password extension.
- Wait a few days and see if the battery use decreases.
Note that you can still use AutoFill to fill your details in Safari when the extension is off: https://support.1password.com/ios-autofill/“
So, in summary, disabling the safari extension will solve the issue. I can still use 1password fine on safari, so not sure what the extension adds.
