High background usage on iOS 26
Ever since I got my new iPhone 17 I'm seeing daily hours and hours of background activity from 1password, and it seems more people are suffering from the same issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/1Password/comments/1o6g8fu/high_1password_background_activity_ios_26/
Just yesterday, 1password ran for 7 hours in the background and use 6% of my total battery, with just 1 minute of actual screen time. Today it was 6% on 3 hours of background time, again with no screen time.
I'm using 8.11.14. I have also tried disabling background refresh and the safari extension as some people on Reddit suggested, to no help at all. And no, I'm not setting up 1password anywhere else, this is happening for weeks now.
Is this being investigated by the 1Password team at all? I haven't seen anything. If it continues it will surely encourage me to start the painful migration to somewhere else.
I have tried emailling support but got no answer. On Reddit everyone is lost.

I am on an iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 26.1 and using 1Passwor 8.11.18. Since the 2nd of December, 1Password all of a sudden started using between 5% and 15% of my battery as a background task, with 0 On Screen usage. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I've also tried turning off background tasks for 1Password. Nothing seems to stop this. I am now considering just uninstalling it permanently until maybe a new version comes out. I have used 1Password for a very long time, and this is the first time I have really gotten an issue with it. From Reddit it seems I am not alone in this problem. I have also submitted a diagnostic report to 1Password, but maybe someone here knows what is going on and how to stop it ?

Same here (iPhone 16).

Issue disappeared for me quite some time now. Currently on 26.2 DB2, 8.11.18, iPhone 17 Pro, but was also gone before. Will keep monitoring.

Same issue here on iPhone 17 Pro Max running the latest stable versions of iOS 26.1 (23B85) and the 1Password app (8.11.16).
1Password is by far the app that consumes the most battery on my phone. Today it has consumed 11% of my battery, with only 2 minutes of actual on-screen usage and 11 minutes in the background. 11% for an app that I use just a couple of times a day is NOT okay. That is a HUGE portion of the battery.
I see a lot of users have reported this issue fo several weeks already… If not fixed soon, I may have to cancel my subscription and look for another provider… 😅

I'm sorry that 1Password is using more battery than expected. The issue still open with our development team. If you update to version 8.11.18 do you still see the same issue?

iPhone Air, IOS 26.0.1, 1pw 8.11.14
Here I tested with Safari plugin disabled. But it was not consistent. Next day was higher again. I'll probably have to check this again:

Exactly the same here. Between 5-10% per day.

iOS 26.1 (32B81) / 8.11.16 / iPhone 17 Pro
Issue was also present with 8.11.14 and all iOS 26.1 beta's, multiple restarts, background app refresh is disabled for 1PW.
5-15% battery usage per day
