How can I search for only part of a password in 1password.

Thanks for the follow up questions. The search box at the top of the 1Password app window will search through all active items in your account. Recently Deleted and the Archive are not included in this search. You can scope the search to specific vaults or categories by using search filters:

You can also look for items inside of the Archive, or in a specific category, by opening the list of items that you'd like to search through using the sidebar and, clicking the Find In button, and then typing your search into the Find field that appears at the top of that list of items:

However the Find tool is more limited than the Search tool at the top of the app and it doesn't search through fields like password fields.

Am I right that search doesn't look in recently deleted and archived. It appears that way from what little testing I have done. Search could be much more effective if you can search in just certain categories, Vaults and the previous two I mentioned.

There isn't a way to search for a password that starts with specific characters and ends with a known character. I see the usefulness of searching 1Password this way. I've shared your feedback with our product team to see if we can add the ability to search for a partial password.

Searching for just ed will search all fields in 1Password. If it helps, you can temporarily toggle on the "Concealed Fields" option in the 1Password desktop app so you can search for the password without having to click each password and select Reveal.

1. Open and unlock the 1Password desktop app.
2. Click your account name on the top left and select Settings.
3. In the Security section, scroll down to the "Concealed Fields" section.

I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for, and I apologize for not having any other suggestions to share. I hope that helps.
