4 years agoHow do you change the type of an existing field on an item in 1Password 8?
Having just upgraded to 1Password 8, there no longer appears to be a way to change the type of an existing field. (Clicking on a field only seems to offer a remove the field.)
1Password Version: 8.4.1
Extension Version: 2.2.1
OS Version: Windows 10

I also support this. Just wanted to improve my security by changing a bunch of text fields to password fields so that the content can be hidden, but found out that it is no longer possible..

Hi,
It really is a missing feature we'd like to see coming to 1P8.BR

I too want to be able to change the field type. This often comes up when a product registration newly requires a login account. Thank you!

would really like to see this feature added. I don't even see how to change the type of a new field in a section, it seems I need to create a new section ... all my fields are type "website" which is wrong, as I want "copy" to be the default behaviour

Hi @davidgeary:
I completely understand the need for this, and while I can't make any promises, I do hope we can improve on the state of play here in the future. Thank you very much for taking the time to offer your feedback and help us make 1Password the best it can be!
