How to change field TYPE

Have upgraded from 1PW 7 to 1PW 8, this may be the reason I cannot change a field type?

I have searched your site (Discussions/Knowledge/interwebs) and can find no info on making this kind of edit. I did find a Reddit post suggesting that one simply create a new field, in the type needed, and copy and paste the info from the old field. Really? Are different field types stored differently in the database?

    You should be able to change most user-added field types. It may be that you're trying to change one of the items pre set field types. If so, I'd recommend using a new or custom field.
