IP keeps locking

I'm sorry that you're being prompted for your account password more often than expected. Even if you set "Confirm my account password" to "Never", you might still be asked for your account password in certain cases such as:
- If your face or fingerprint isn’t recognized, or there was an error on your companion device.
- If you’re trying to change your account password.
- If you’ve restarted 1Password, including after updating 1Password or restarting your PC, when the Trusted Platform Module isn’t turned on.
Can you tell me if you might have run into one of these cases?
The second instance is as follows. I unlock 1P on the desktop. I try to log in to a site and 1P in the browser locks and I have to enter my full password once again. This issue is sporadic.
The next time that this issue occurs, right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings. Then can you tell me if you see Integration status: Connected 🟢 or do you see an error message with a different coloured circle?

Unexpected locking, as well as connection issues between the 1Password desktop app and extension can be caused by a number of different scenarios. With that in mind, the exact steps and troubleshooting 1P_Dave and Andrew42 were exploring may not apply. Could you share any additional details about the behaviour you're seeing such as which platform and browser you're using, and how frequently this issue occurs? Thanks again!
