Just seeing "Open 1Password" when using 1Password for Safari
Why is it that when I attempt to use 1PW in Safari it does not work? With 1PW already open, I open Safari, go to a site where I have an account. When I click the icon in the toolbar all I get is "Open 1Password". Uhm, 1Password is open but I'll close it anyway to be sure. Try logging in again, again I get the "Open 1PW", so I click the blue box to open it and......... it doesn't do anything. So I open 1PW, quit Safari, reopen and still all I get is "Open Safari". I deleted the extension, re-downloaded it and still get the same message. So know the browser I use most is more of a burden now. That's even if I want to keep using it.
Prior to this I had the dreaded "Oops! Something went wrong" message and hope that it would go away after the 100th time.
I'm not sure if Safari is an very complex browser ( I'm not a developer ) but I have 10 times as many problems with 1P for Safari than I do with any of the other 1P extensions in Firefox, Brave, Edge etc. It's quite the head scratcher from a company whose roots are in the Mac universe.
1Password Version: 1Password for Mac 8.10.20 (81020036)
Extension Version: 2.17.1
OS Version: macOS 14.2
Browser: Safari

Hello jdiv726! 👋
I'm sorry that you're running into issues with 1Password in Safari. It looks like you're running the beta version of macOS, we're aware of an issue in older versions of the beta that could cause the behaviour that you've described. The issue should be corrected in macOS 14.2 Beta 3, can you please try these steps:
- Update to macOS 14.2 beta 3 or later. Don't skip this step.
- Clear Safari's history/cache:
Instructions on how to clear the history/cache:
- Open Safari.
- Click "History" in the macOS menu bar and select "Clear History" to clear all history.
- Once that's done, restart Safari by clicking Safari > Quit Safari. Then re-open Safari.
If that still doesn't resolve the issue then please let me know and I can help further. 🙂
