Mac - shortcut conflict
Since I installed 1password 8 on my Mac I have a shortcut conflict regarding Hold Command + ` (tilde key, to the left of 1 on your keyboard).

I faced exactly the same issue.
In fact you need to remove the "Autofill" shortcut in 1password to fix it
